Best Carry Out Pizza in Chicago – Quarantine Edition
We have been ordering a good amount of carryout during quarantine here in Chicago. One theme in our food ordering is pizza. While Chicago is known for its deep dish pizza, that’s not all we do well. And deep dish doesn’t always travel well when you’re getting pick up or delivery. So it’s almost better to skip the super heavy deep dish if you are getting delivery as it can get soggy by the time it gets to you. Below is an incomplete list of some of the best pizza you can get either delivered to you, or picked up in Chicago. We obviously cannot order from every pizza place in Chicago, so I do apologize if I did not include your favorite.
My Pie – Bucktown
This is a relatively new pizza place to me. They specialize in pan pizzas, which are nice and hearty. They also offer frozen and refrigerated pizzas that you can bake at home if that’s more your jam. The pizza we ordered was delicious and arrived in pristine condition. Here’s the website.
Happy Camper – Wrigleyville, Wicker Park, Old Town and Lincoln Park
The Happy Camper family keeps growing here in Chicago with new locations opening all over the city. We live close enough that we can walk and pick up, which is convenient. Their pizzas have so many different and interesting toppings that I aways will recommend it. We are also big fans of their goat sticks. Here’s the website.
Parlor Pizza – River North, Wicker Park and West Loop
Parlor Pizza also has several locations and they do Neapolitan pizza, which is a nice change from some heavier types of pizza. I got a very simple pizza, but it was delicious. Light, but full of flavor. Here’s the website.
Blaze – Many Locations
While Blaze is a chain, it never disappoints me. It’s the most affordable option on this list and is very customizable as well. They have locations all over the city and offer delivery or pick up. I recommend getting their app as their rewards program isn’t half bad. Here’s the website.
Other Options
We are spoiled with options here in Chicago, but here are some other places that we want to order from in the future, but haven’t gotten to yet during quarantine:
