The Ultimate Levi’s Jeans Guide

I own my fair share of jeans and one brand that I own more of than any other is Levis. They hold up great, are terrific quality and have so many varieties of styles. As a bonus, they are having a huge pre-black Friday sale, so if you’ve been thinking of trying a pair out now is the time. I am going to focus on the three types that I have and like, but if you go to the Levis website, they have so many other types as well.

The 501

This was my first pair of Levi’s. The 501 style comes in several different lengths (cropped, full length) and stretchiness (with stretch and 100% cotton). I wanted a more vintage fit, so I went with the 100% cotton version. Something to note about 100% cotton jeans is that when you first put them on, they feel so tight and restrictive. Don’t panic. Like a good pair of leather shoes, you’ll have to break them in. I had to wear these a bunch before they stretched out enough to be actually comfortable. Levi’s sizing also can be a problem, so I would recommend reading the reviews very carefully. The 501 is a high rise, straight leg and most come in a button fly.

The Wedgie

This was the next pair of Levi’s I bought. These came out more recently and became wildly popular due mostly to their name (at least that’s what I think 😆 ). The cheeky name and fit is great. The wedgie is a skinny fit and most have some stretch to them, compared to my 501, which is a rigid fit. These are an ankle cut as well, with a button fly. They have the same high rise as the 501. More comfy than the 501, because of the stretch they have as well.

The Ribcage

The Ribcage style is my most recent addition to the Levi’s jean family in my closet. They come in straight, ankle or bootcut. They have a straight leg, with some stretch and a button fly. The best part of these jeans is the rise. These style have the highest rise that I have seen in a jean and the highest that Levi’s offers. If you are addicted to high rise jeans like I am these are it. If I needed another pair, I would try out the bootcut version.
