What I’ve Read Recently – August
A very busy month for my book reading! After getting through the first book this month, I chugged through quite a few books and all of them were very different. Going to hit my goal to read 30 books very soon!
Damnation Spring – This book could have been so good, but it took a long time to get going for me. It weaves environmental issues and the health of a community. Ultimately, it was hard to finish. 3/5.
Book Lovers – I’m a big fan of Emily Henry books. They are a joy to read and this one was no different. A light-hearted romance novel that you can get through in no time. 4/5.
Every Summer After – This book is similar to Emily Henry books. Based on a lake and each chapter is another Summer (actually reminded me of 27 Summers by Elin Hilderbrand). A good summer ready. 4/5.
I’m Glad My Mom Died – Someone got my hands on this book right after it came out and finished it in one day. Incredible book. 5/5.
One Italian Summer – I read this while being in Italy, which definitely added to the experience. The main character was a bit irritating, but I enjoyed the setting of Positano and it was worth reading on vacation! 3.5/5.
What I’m Reading Next
Scar Tissue – This book was lent to me by a friend and is different than what I normally read, so it should be interesting.
