What I’ve Read Recently – March 2023

I am back on my reading grind 💪 and it feels good! Like most months, this one was all over the place in terms of genre. The clear winner for me was Bel Canto as it came straight out of left field. Black Cake was the runner-up.

Daring Greatly – This felt very similar to the other Brené Brown book I read in January. Not to say it wasn’t good, a lot of it was repetitive because I read Atlas of the Heart. 3.5/5

Black Cake – This is a book I saw everywhere and I’m glad I finally read it. It follows two siblings trying to unravel their mother’s life after her passing. I enjoyed almost all of it. 4/5

Butts: A Backstory – I saw this at my Library display and had to pick it up. It really is all about our obsession with butts. It was funny and also very interesting if not incredibly niche. 3.5/5

Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals – This is one of the better self-help/productivity books I’ve read. The author skips a lot of the more traditional hacks and instead is much more philosophical. I really enjoyed it. 4/5

Bel Canto – This is not a new book at all, but it was lended to me by a friend so I gave it a go. This book was absolutely wild. It follows a birthday party gone wrong and one very special Opera Singer. Highly recommend even if I didn’t love the ending. 4/5

In Five Years – I liked this book but also found it to be kind of similar in a lot of ways to Luckiest Girl Alive, without the darker aspects of LGA. If you love NYC, and romance, you may like this one. 3.5/5

What I’m Reading Next

Such a Fun Age – Saw this book everywhere so picked it up to start next!
