What I’ve Read Recently – February 2023

Another solid month of reading for me. One standout novel this month with some other eh books that could be good for the right person. Let’s get into it.

Luckiest Girl Alive – Yeesh. This one was a doozy. I didn’t realized how messed up this book was going to be. Lots of disturbing story lines in here – eating disorders, school shootings to name a few. I feel like I need to watch the Netflix movie now. I would read this if you’re a read the book before watching the movie kind of person, but know its not a happy story. 3/5

Lessons in Chemistry – This is book that was hyped up for a long time and I had to wait months before a copy was available at the library. I really enjoyed it too. Set in the 1950s a chemist becomes the host of a hit cooking TV show. It was such a unique plot and I loved it. 5/5 would recommend.

Everything I Know About Love– Another book on this list that has been turned into a tv/movie. This is a memoir with some great stories mostly from the Author’s twenties and I found some of them very relatable and then others just hilarious. Dolly writes candidly about her best girlfriends and all the dates she’s gone on. Parts got a little bit to drunken for me, but I enjoyed it 3.5/5

Verity – This is one of the weirdest books I’ve ever read. It is different than most of Colleen Hoover’s other books in that is more thriller/suspenseful but parts of this book I just could not get behind because they were so outlandish and ridiculous. Read this if you like Coho only.

What I’m Reading Next

Daring Greatly – This is the other Brené Brown book I checked out and it is what I will taking on next!
